Do you want to change careers but you just can’t find the time? I know the challenge of working full-time and wanting to look for a new job. It can almost seem impossible when you’re trying to juggle the responsibilities of work and family on top of looking for a new job.
You’ve reached the point where you feel like enough is enough, and you’re willing to spend the holidays’ editing your resume and applying to jobs…. So the question is…Should you look now or wait until the top of the year. Many people think it best to wait until the first of the year to begin to look for a new job. However, there are a lot of companies who use the end of the year to fill positions that they won’t have the budget to fill next year and companies who are hiring in preparation for the New Year.
The key to making sure you’re submitting the right resume is understanding the job posting. If you’re looking to customize your resume you will want to look at the job requirements. This is not to say you shouldn’t read the entire description to determine if this would be a job you’re interested in, but a note to pay extra attention to the job requirements. Before you submit a resume to a job opening make sure you’ve read the job requirements and can say with confidence your resume meets them.
